Tonight was another enjoyable night at AWANA.  The kids were energized indeed.  :)

I caught myself smiling on the way home.  I can't help it!  It is such a blessing working with the kids. :)

Some of the trees, here in Arkansas are starting to turn.

The colors of fall foliage is one of my favorite things about the season.

I like to think of it as a beautiful painting from the Lord.

The colors of  fall, 

spread before me,

orange, yellow, red.

laid out like a quilt on a bed.

covering the earth,

from the cool morning chill.

It rises and falls from hill to hill.

Thank You Lord,

for the beautiful scene,

Thank You for painting it for me.

Are you kidding me?!

Good morning!

In my last post, I mentioned being blessed by visiting two Sisters in Christ.  I didn't mention that I was strong against resisting the "goodies" that were available (delicious seasoned pretzels, pumpkin bread).  I was on the wagon, so to speak, and doing my best to stay there.

I did good, until I got home last night.

Mocha Cappuccino Peanut Butter Cookies.  

Are you kidding me?!

I was blind-sided, totally knocked off the proverbial wagon.  I ate a cookie and it was good!

After, I finished the cookie, I picked myself up, dusted my self off and climbed back on the wagon.

Here's the recipe.  For a smaller batch of cookies, cut everything in half.

Mocha Cappuccino Peanut Butter Cookies
2 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs, beaten
1 c. mocha cappuccino hazelnut spread
1 c. peanut butter
6 c. flour
4 tsp. soda
dash of salt

Cream shortening, sugars, and vanilla.  Add eggs and mix.  Stir in peanut butters. Add flour, soda, and salt.  Make balls and press with fork.  Bake at 350° for 10 minutes on ungreased baking sheet.

Updating...

Today I wore earplugs all day... sheet rock was being installed on all the concrete walls.  One preexisting wall was torn down to move a office wall back and a new wall was built to divide up a preexisting office.

Here are pictures of what's been going on at work.  Unfortunately my boss got pictures of me trying to get pictures.  LOL

See the wall in the background... that's where I, my boss, another team member and the plant manager are working during all the banging and clanging.  :)

My desk use to be here, before I moved behind the wall back in March. I like it better in the office I'm in now... these windows were very drafty in the winter.

Tonight I was blessed to meet with two Sisters in Christ.   We shared thoughts, laughter and prayers.  That's what treasures are made of.  :)

Being Real and the Parade Continues

Good morning!

As I went through my morning routine this morning, there was something that stuck with me.

Luke 23:39-43 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.  But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Doest not thou fear God, seeing thou are in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we receive due reward of our deeds; but this man hat done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into they kingdom.  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Grace is giving something when it is not deserved.   As I read scripture this morning, I began thinking of the whole crucifixion scene.  All those who were pious, righteous and good people were mocking the Lord Jesus Christ and yet a man who was not versed in "religion" knew who Jesus truly was.  

I use to be the person who knew the "rules of religion", played the part well.  So well, I had others convinced I truly believed all I said and did.  

Well, I was outwardly talking and doing all the right things, but talking and doing the right things doesn't make it right.  You know?  

It's not about what I can do or what I do, it all about what Jesus Christ did.  He died for the sins of everyone on this earth.

It's about being "real" with your relationship with Christ, and not about being "good".
