When I came home this evening, I found this picture on the table.
David took Audre to public library earlier today and while they were there the Librarian gave them this picture. They found it and other pictures while going through stuff in back of the library. This picture was taken back 10 years ago, when my daughter was around 4 years old. The daycare, she attended, took the kids to the library weekly for story and craft times.
I finally found out what these pretty little flowers are.
They are Moss Roses!
We are under a watering restriction here in Paris and these flowers love it.
Though my moss rose, marigolds, hens and chicks and red sedum are holding up in this dry weather, the veggies and my roses aren't doing too well.
We have a chance for rain in the next two days and I hope and pray it happens.

Looking at the clock, I see that it is now Thursday.
All afternoon, I craved a cranberry slush, so after work I picked up my daughter and we went to Sonic. She got a large cherry limeade, easy ice and I got a large cranberry slush. Yummy!!
Had a pbj and chips for my evening meal, then got to work on a crocheted choker for a friend.
Here's what I've got so far. The choker band is 15 1/4" long. She gave me the three horse charms to attach and I will add the hooks of a "hook and eye" set to one end so that she can clasp it together and be able to adjust the size a little.
This will match the two rings I made for her a few weeks ago.
I'm so much into a book, that I read until I happened to look up at the clock this morning, and it was 2:30 a.m. I made myself go to bed, since I had to get up at 6:30 for work.

It's a book of four stories, with the setting in Virginia from 1846 - 1918.
It is a very interesting read thus far.
I found this book at a garage sale for $1.00. It was in "like new" condition.
Now I'm ready to get back to the book. :)
But before I go... Bonnie, my friend from work, handed me this book this morning and told it was a good read. So I will be starting it soon.
Today, I finished the quilt I started on Thursday.
This evening we went to my parent's house and my little nephew said my name for the first time!
He got one of mom's big spoons and carried it around playing and chewing on it and when it was time to eat, he decided he wanted to eat with it.
Isn't he a cutie!
We missed the fireworks show in our area, but after we got home this evening we found the 4th of July fireworks shows on television. So we still got to see them in the comfort of our home, but it would have been cool to watch the fireworks live. We watched the shows in NYC and in Boston, going back and forth between the two.
I'm thinking it would be pretty awesome to see those two shows live.

I'm not sure what type of flowers these are, but they are pretty. They bloom every morning and then die off by noon. I was thinking earlier, they are a good lesson for life.
The flowers are a beautiful sight to me each morning. I marvel at the creation of God's hands. This morning as I looked at the delicate flowers, I thought like these flowers we are only here for a short time. As we enjoy the beauty of nature, we should also enjoy life.
Challenge this week: Take time to slow down and enjoy the day that's been given you.
This evening, I heard a young man give a compelling message.
We celebrate our independence and freedom every year, and remember those who make it possible, on the 4th of July. But often times, I think, we forget another type of independence that is available. The independence and freedom from the chains of sin.
As a Believer in Jesus Christ and a Child of God, I am first and foremost independent and free through the grace of God.
Just as we remember the day our country was founded, we must remember the day of our independence and freedom through the grace of God.
Just as we stand and serve our country for independence and freedom, we must also stand for our independence and freedom through the grace of God.
STAND FAST therefore in the liberty where with Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. ~ Galatians 5:1 KJV
To explain it better, here is the Amplified version of the above verse.
IN [THIS] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].
In other words... Christ died to set us free from sin and from a long list of laws and regulations.
Does that mean we are free to do whatever our hearts desire? No, because our hearts would lead us right back to the bondage and slavery of sin. However, we are now free and able to do what was impossible before - to live outside the bondage of sin - to accept God's grace and live in freedom, serving Him.
So if you are a Child of God, when you celebrate your freedom in this country, this 4th of July, celebrate also, your freedom through the grace of God!
Last weekend, I sat down and scheduled out my projects. I'm going to be busy through October, and this week I took on a few more projects that will keep me busy through November.
So far this week, I'm on track.
Mailed off the Handmade Gift exchange to Washington
Finished a crocheted coaster set for one of my Sister-n-laws.
The other thing I have planned, to finish this week, is hemming up a pair of dress pants. I will most likely do that Saturday.
I had a scary moment earlier today. At work we provided a pizza lunch. I was scheduled to leave and pick up the 45 pizzas at noon. So about 5 'til, I grab my keys then reach for my wallet to get my driver's license out and stick it in my pocket, so that I wouldn't have to take my handbag.
I open my wallet and my driver's license is gone. I looked through the rest of the wallet, not there. I looked through hand bag, not there. I keep my handbag pretty organized and I knew if it wasn't there, it was lost.
After we got the pizzas set out for the employees, I left and came home for lunch. I looked in every handbag I have used in the last month. I didn't find it. I was beginning to worry. My husband reminded me to eat lunch, as I tend to pass up a meal when I get busy with something else. So I stopped searching and ate.
When I finished, I told David I was going to check one more time through my handbags just to make sure I didn't miss it. I pulled a bag out and was looking through its pockets when David goes to where I keep my handbags and asks about a particular one, I use for church sometimes. When he pointed it out, it all came together and I knew that was where my driver's license was. Sure enough, when I searched a zippered pocket, there it was.

I used the particular bag about 3 weeks ago. It's a good thing I didn't get pulled over in the past three weeks. Whew!!
Lesson learned: Keep my license in my wallet, PERIOD. :)
