Weekly Recipe

Hello all!  Hope you had a great day.

Here's this week's recipe.

Molasses Cookies
by Patty Ann McCulley, Camillus, NY   In Favorite Recipes of America, Desserts, 1968.

1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup molasses mixed with 1 teaspoon soda
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk(buttermilk) mixed with 1 teaspoon soda

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs and molasses-soda mixture.  Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately with buttermilk-soda mixture.  Drop by teaspoons on greased baking.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.  Yield: 5-6 dozen cookies.

Personal note from Patty: This recipe won a blue ribbon at the New York State Fair.

These cookies turned out very delicious.  Try them out.  :)
